Before coming to Youkai Academy, Tsukune Aono wasn't exactly what you would call a grade A student. Once he discovers that Youkai Academy is a school for monsters, the only thing keeping him there are his feelings for Moka Akashiya, the vampire girl he ran into upon arriving.
Tsukune is a rather selfless and polite sort who cares for his friends, Moka in particular.
