Seiya is hot-blooded, and acts before having time to think, which usually results in him getting beaten to pulp. But he is also extremely willful, and as long as his life has a motivation (at first his sister, then Athena) he will keep getting up, even if each bone in him is broken. Seiya is also a very sociable character, ready to laugh and have fun, and he gets along with any of the other Bronze Boys, except Ikki, whose ironical and pessimistic attitude drives Seiya mad. Shiryu is his best friend, who understands him more than the others.

Seiya seems to be the most immature of the Bronze Boys, and acts like a real adolescent. He has three women in his life: Miho, a gentle girl that was his friend during his childhood, and who loves him dearly. Shaina loves Seiya, but he doesn't seem to respond to this love by anything else than friendship. And Saori is certainly the most important woman in Seiya's (and the other Saint's, save perhaps Hyoga) life. He would die for her, and finds support in her Cosmo. Seiya seems quite infatuated with Saori, but we can't really tell if it's his heart or his sense of duty that makes him risk his life for her.
