Character Description: Kukai Souma
Kukai is the oldest member of the Guardians at the beginning. He's energetic and cheerful and is captain of the soccer team. His Guardian Chara, Daichi, was born when he wanted to know how far he could go and test himself. He seems to like Yuiki Yaya and they're usually seen together. He also seems to like his childhood friend, Sion.
At the end of the first season, Kukai graduates and goes to middle school. He is replaced by Kairi Sanjo. Later on he comes back to help Amu hunt X Eggs. And with the owner of Amu's Humpty Lock he and Daichi transform into Sky Jack. He is supportive of Amu and makes her feel better when her Diamond Egg gets an X mark.

Kukai, when transforming, seems to speak of himself in a very informal way, saying 'Ore no Kokoro' rather than 'Watashi no Kokoro'. It is his dream to be a famous athlete, but has trouble decided between Basketball or Soccer.
Kukai has a grandfather living in a temple on the mountains. In a much later time, he is revealed to have four older brothers named, Kaidou, Shuusui, Unkai and Rento. Kaidou is always pushy and harsh to him, but that turns out to be their way of communicating and playing. ... show more »
