Rukawa is a skilled basketball player with good looks and is good at fighting. He has his own in-show fangirls. This makes Hanamichi jealous. Hanamichi's crush, Haruko, also has a crush on Rukawa, leading to fights between them (obviously Rukawa doesn't know what Hanamichi's getting so irritated about). He likes to irritate people.
