Cartoon Description: Sonic the Hedgehog

Notice: This is not Japanese animation! I have, however, decided to include it on this site anyway. If you're one of those hard-core anime purists who can't stand seeing a non-anime series on a site dedicated to Japanese animation, then just press the Back button on your web browser and pretend like you were never here.

Back in the 1990s, there was not one, but TWO Sonic cartoons. One was the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, which was a goofier and more cartoony take on the popular video game series. And then there was the more serious Sonic the Hedgehog (known as SatAM by many Sonic fans) which is widely regarded as the best animated incarnation of Sonic.

In this series, the story takes place on the Planet Mobius, where many of its inhabitants are being terrorized and oppressed by the sinister Dr. Robotnik. From his conquered territory of Robotropolis, he set out on a campaign to take over the planet and enslave its citizens by turning them into robot slaves.

However, a resistance force known as the "Freedom Fighters" are hiding from Robotnik and plotting to put a stop to his evil plans. Among them is a speedy hedgehog named Sonic, his sidekick Tails, a Princess named Sally, and other members fighting against Robotnik's evil forces. With the help of the "fastest thing alive," will Mobius finally be free from Robotnik's tyranny?
