Like Gamma, Beta also has a bird inside of him that is also a parent to Amy Rose's bird. He was also made by Dr. Eggman to destroy Sonic and help in the perfection of Chaos.

Beta was simply being remodeled in front of the eyes of Gamma, who was watching. Thankfully however, he was destroyed by Gamma, who destroyed the other E-100 robots as well as himself, and thus all animals inside the E-100 robots were free at last.
