The legendary Sam Speed is not only very fast, he is also very famous. Sam is the leader of a super-fast highway patrol team called the Speed Team. At first, Sam was angry with Sonic for being faster than him, but now he helps Sonic and friends... every now and then.
It also appears that other than being the Speed Team captain, he is appearantly chris' uncle. He almost beat Sonic to a race but one of the team members said that the highway was out. Without realizing Sonic managed to continue running and jumped into mid air. Well, without a word Sam returned to his team.
