Character Profile: Crona

Just a note to start off, Crona's gender remains ambiguous throughout the series, and since writing he/she is kinda annoying, I'm just going to use the female gender pronouns, mainly since Crona is played by a Japanese female voice actress. Though apparently in the Japanese manga they use male gender pronouns.

Crona is the only child of Medusa, the first true villain figure in the series. Medusa tortured Crona in order to create the perfect weapon. Medusa, being a witch, cut Crona off from the world and injected her with black blood (forcing Ragnarok to become part of Crona's body).

But Medusa could never really get Crona to love killing or evil. Every time Medusa tried, Crona would claim she "didn't know how to deal with it." After this, Medusa would lock Crona in a room for days at a time leaving her to be bullied by her weapon.

Finally, Crona cracked. She listened to his mother's orders until, while defending the kishin, she had a battle with Maka. Maka is the closest to her soul wavelength, so Crona opens up to Maka because Maka understands. They are now best friends and would do anything for each other.
