Kamaji is the boiler man for the onsen. He is a very interesting character because his body is almost like a spider. He is required to make certain bathing potions for the customers. He also has soot helpers that put the coal into the burner. At first, Kamaji seems to be rude to Chihiro, but when Lin steps in, he becomes protective of her.
Overall, Kamaji is helpful character that would be willing to give you advice.

I'm going to an anime convention as kamaji :) can't wait, but I'm having trouble finding out how to make his beard any help would be much appreciated. Any good fabrics you could share?? Thanks :D

Even after Kamaji tells Lin that Chihiro is his granddaughter, Chihiro, not one minute later, adresses him as "Mr. Boiler Man." XD
Also, the soot sprites that work for Kamaji appear to be nearly identical to the soot sprites that appeared in My Neighbor Totoro.

Kamaji is awesome when he helps Chihiro/Sen with the train tickets. Apparently the tickets are worth quite a lot of gold and are very rare in the bathhouse.
