Anime Description: Steamboy

Steamboy tells the story of Ray Steam, the son of famous inventor Edward Steam. Living in 19th Century England before the time of the Great Exhibition, Ray has a big curiosity with machines and aims to become as famous as his father (who also inexplicably goes missing).

Ray's life takes a dramatic change when an invention called the Steam Ball lands on his doorstep. Given to him by his grandfather, Lloyd Steam, the ball's mysterious purpose is seen with envious eyes by the O'Hara Corporation, who aims to steal the invention by force and with any means necessary.

However, after Ray is kidnapped by O'Hara, he learns that a person from his past has returned with his own mysterious ambitions, much to the dismay of Ray's grandfather. Soon enough Ray is caught in an intense struggle of scientific ideals between two scientists, one that could rip apart all of London in the process....
