Noike Sakazua's life began commonly enough – until her father discovered that her mother was pregnant with her, then he deserted her. Later, her mother then found a new boyfriend, but he didn't want the burden of raising a daughter, so her mother had placed her into an orphanage, where she was later adopted by Seto Kamiki Jurai. However, for most of her life, Noike was tormented with what tragedy her family had to endure in order to abandon her so.

As a member of the Jurai Royal family, Noike was bonded to a third-generation royal tree, Kyoko. However, the tree was of a secret design. Learning from their experience of Ryoko Hakubi's attack on Jurai 700 years before, Kyoko was modified so that its power was equal to a second-generation tree. Kyoko even has a remote interface unit which allows anyone on-board the treeship to interact directly with Kyoko, although the tree does have issues; it is a glutton for attention and will seek it aggressively.

With her royal bonds, Noike was able to attend the Galaxy Police Academy, and was a partner of Mihoshi Kuramitsu. Her experience with working with the other kids at the orphanage had enabled her to deal with Mihoshi's flightiness, often quite sternly. However, there was one instance during her tenure in the G.P. that brought Noike back to her past. While investigating an accident on one world, Noike had ran the D.N.A. of one of the witnesses through the database – and found that it was her natural mother! After confronting her with the facts, Noike's mother then told her story. She had thought that, by carefully choosing the orphanage, that Noike might have the life she couldn't provide herself.

Years later, Noike was considered to be Misao Kuramitsu's second-in-command on the Choubimaru. In fact, Misao wanted to have Noike on the job. However, Mikami Kuramitsu had vetoed that and had Mashisu Makibi become the second.

Later, Noike was given a mission by Lady Seto: to observe Tenchi Masaki, mostly because that four very powerful women РRyoko, Ayeka Misaki Jurai, Sasami Misaki Jurai, Mihoshi, and Washu Hakubi Рhad gravitated towards the one individual that can generate the Lighthawk wings, her guise being the arranged fianc̩ of Tenchi. She was accompanied to Earth by Tenchi's older sister Tennyo and his grandmother Airi. But when Tennyo was delayed Рmostly because Tenchi thought Tennyo was their mother Kiyone, Noike had sneaked away from Airi, mostly because she was unhappy about the situation. By chance, she had encountered Tenchi, along with Ryo-Ohki, while he was tending the carrot fields after finding out about the arrangement from Tennyo. But not long afterwards, she was afflicted by a strange vision Рthat of Tenchi with a young girl Рand fainted afterwards.

After everything was straightened out, Noike had settled herself into the Masaki household, even helping out Sasami with the cooking. She even was able to get Ryoko and Ayeka to aid in the chores – with a little cajoling. And when Tenchi collapsed from a result of heatstroke and stress, she had forced everyone to give him space to recover. She even revealed the true nature of her mission to Ayeka and Ryoko, mostly to avoid any of their horseplay. She even had Katsuhito Masaki do a few favors for her – which included buying a pickup truck for her to aid with the chores. She even cut her long hair, choosing the style she sported when she was younger, wearing a wig for official functions, as well as for Nobuyuki and Rea's wedding.

But all through this, Noike was still haunted by the visions of Tenchi and the young girl. It wasn't until Z's attack upon the Masakis – not to mention the modified incident with the Choubimaru – that the truth was discovered. Several of Noike's cells had imprinted within them the logo of Dr. Clay. With a little help from Tokimi, they had found it was the little girl – which was the female half of Kagato – that was responsible.

Kagato was originally created (by Washu) as a hermaphrodite, but because Kagato hated women, the girl's astral half was forced from her. Clay somehow found her, bound her with his seal, and implanted her within Noike. But because of Clay's seal, the girl Kagato was unable to fully merge with Noike. Z was able to exploit this by using girl Kagato's desire to meet Tenchi to spy on the Masakis through Noike's eyes. Thus revealed, Washu was able to remove Clay's seal from girl Kagato, then the little girl was able to fully assimilate with Noike.
