In this new re-imagining of the Transformers series, Optimus Prime (now a young rookie) and his team of heroic Autobots crash land on Earth while trying to protect a special Cybertronian relic known as the Allspark. Trailing them are the sinister forces of the Decepticons, lead by the merciless Megatron. The Autobots and Decepticons end up in Detroit in the future, where robot technology has evolved dramatically, and this is where the battle between the two forces begins.

Megatron is plotting to take control of the Allspark and use its powers against Human and Autobot alike. However, in their battle to stop the Decepticons, the Autobots also have some human opposition to contend with. Though, this Optimus is still young and learning how to become an effective leader. Can he become a great leader in his own right and bring the Autobots to victory?
