Anime Description: Transformers

Notice: This is not Japanese animation! I have, however, decided to include it on this site anyway. If you're one of those hard-core anime purists who can't stand seeing a non-anime series on a site dedicated to Japanese animation, then just press the Back button on your web browser and pretend like you were never here.

The Transformers finally come to life on the big screen in a massive adventure directed by action movie buff Michael Bay (The Rock, Armagaddeon). In this remake of the classic 1984 cartoon series and toyline, both the Autobots and Decepticons are fighting in order to gain control of a special artifact known as the Allspark. This is the life-giving force of the Transformers, however the Decepticons have intentions of using it for their own sinister purposes. The Allspark has fallen to Earth, bringing the battle of these two robotic factions to our world.

The Decepticons make their first strike when Blackout, a Decepticon disquised as a Military helicopter decimates an American Military base in the deserts of Qatar. A group of surviving soldiers become hunted by a Decepticon while trying to warn the U.S. of the threat. Meanwhile in America, a teenager named Sam Witwicky is preparing for the day most teenagers long for, their first car. However, in a strange turn of events he ends up with a rusted 1976 Camaro.

Soon he discovers that its really an Autobot named Bumblebee. Sam unwitingly holds the key to the Allspark, which makes Sam a target for the Decepticons. The Autobots led by Optimus Prime arrive on Earth in order to find the Allspark, protect Sam and defeat the Decepticons. However the Decepticons are preparing to awaken the evil Megatron, who is held by a secret government organization. In this battle for the powerful Allspark, all hell is about to break loose....

This film is based on the 1980s cartoon series which has spun off into various other cartoons and anime. The original voice actor for Optimus Prime has returned to reprise his role. In both the U.S. and Japanese versions, Peter Cullen is once again playing Optimus and Tessho Genda will return as "Convoy" in the Japanese dub of the film.
