Tomoyo is the princess of Nihon. She sent Kurogane to Yuuko. She also gave him the seal on his forehead which drains his power every time he kills.

Later, we lean that after the death of Kurogane's mother and father, he went crazy. He killed many people, so Tomoyo was summoned to stop him. She manged to calm him without harming him. After that, he vowed to protect her.
