Character Description: Kanata Saionji
Kanata Saionji, son of a Buddhist priest, is a handsome, dashing eight grader. He lives in Saionji Temple with his dad, Hosho, until he leaves him at home because he has to go to India to practice Buddhism. Kanata is a sensible, responsible, no-nonsense kind of guy, who has loads of girl fans at school.
Kanata meets a normal, cute girl named Miyu Kozuki. Miyu's mom was Kanata's deceased mom's friend. Miyu's parents then get hired by NASA to go to America, and they had to leave Miyu with Kanata. Now, they are the only ones left at home. That's how the love-story starts!
Though at start, Kanata hates Miyu a lot, but later in the series he develops feelings for her, but is hesitant to tell her. Even Miyu likes him, but doesn't want him to know. Kanata has a number of girl fans, but among them the one no one can ever forget is Christine Hanakomachi, a true loony.
