Shizuka Hiou, along with Kaname Kuran, was one of the only purebloods (vampires with no human in them) remaining. Shizuka was the pureblood vampire who attacked the Kiryuu family after going made with rage at the killing of her lover. Angry that her lover was killed, she turned Zero into a vampire and wants to make him and his family suffer.

Ok, she left some things out of the fact description.
She killed his family because they did kill her lover. Her lover wasn't a Level E yet. He was a level D. But the reason they killed himwas because they were asked to by rido. Shizuka and Rido were engaged. He asked zero's parents to eliminate her lover. (Forget reason) but thats why he was killed. They were asked to do so, and they obayed the order. Okay people well if there's any questions about why she killed Zero's parents it's because they DID in fact kill her lover, ONLY because he was put on their "To Kill" even though he wasn't supposed to be there yet because hadn't yet fallen to a Level E (in other words it was fixed). She only did that because it was for revenge because she LOVED the person, one person or a dozen she LOVED him so.. yeah I know that I'd be pissed if that was me so I'd do the same thing! and she doesn't turn Ichiru into a Vampire because I'm pretty sure that she loves him as well and doesn't want to put him through all the pains of being an ex-human vampire. Maybe because she doesn't want to risk him being killed by the Hunters, or maybe just because she wants to keep him pure(ish). Shizuka is a good character in the shadows, she just leads on that she's bad but she's really good, her intentions and her person in all(:

i love Shizuka she is so beautiful , she isn't bad she was a actually good character, she let her self die to save yuki and the purebllod race,if kaname hadn't biten her then zero wouldn't have biten kaname in order to take on her powers to turn the bloody rose gun into live roses which killed Rido, so in all she really didn't die in vain, she is so great!!! she is definetly a great character! my favorite for sure!XD ... show more »
