Doumeki is the opposite of Watanuki. He does not see spirits but wards them off. If Yuuko happens to need to send Watanuki somewhere where dangerous spirits may be, she sends Doumeki with him.
At one point, Doumeki makes a spider demon mad and it makes his left eye blind. Watanuki transfers that to his eye and Doumeki thinks that he does not deserve it and gives part of his eye to Watanuki so he can see. That is why Watanuki has two different colored eyes.
If someone else can see spirits, then Doumeki believes they're real, even though he can't see them.

Hmm... if I'm not mistaken, I believe that Image of the character, is actually Doumeki's grandfather... you might want to look that up. I remember that it's from one of the xxxHolic Kei episodes...

I think he is really cool :3 I luv his care free attitude. although I wonder why he doesnt show much emotions...?
