Téa is a childhood friend of Yugi. She cares a lot for her friends and tells them not to give up hope. She helps Yugi a lot too. She went out on a date with Yami Yugi (to help find out about his past), and fought Mai for starchips so that Yugi could get inside Pegasus Castle.
Some fans believe that that Téa is the reincarnation of Teana, who lived in ancient Egypt with Pharaoh Atemu, but really this is never made mention of in the series at all. Téa's spirit does travel back in time with Yugi, Honda, and Jounouchi, but she is not a reincarnation.
In Japanese, Anzu means "apricot".
One day, Anzu was working at a restaurant to make money for dance lessons after school. When she goes to her locker, she finds a picture with her working at the restaurant and threatening to tell on her working if she didn't show up at an abandon warehouse (the school didn't want their students to work). She arrives there and finds a pervert who is video taping close ups of Anzu's body. (It seemed though as if this perv was about to rape her.)
Then comes Yami no Yuugi and jumps the perv, while he knocks Anzu unconcious. Yami no Yuugi challenges him to a game of high card draw. Yami no Yuugi wins, but the perv retaliates. Yami no Yuugi then uses his Mind Crush ("Mind Crack" in Japan) and sends his evilness to the Shadow Realm.
While Anzu was unconcious, she heard Yami no Yuugi's voice, and when she awoke, she found Yuugi. She's had a crush on him ever since he rescued her.
She knows what she's doing, and she cares a lot for her friends. She'll never give up.
Overall, Anzu is very kind and willing to help others.

I hate how people group 'Anzu' with this 'Tea' because honestly - shes like two different people in the English and Japanese anime. Eng is about "friendship" (which i didn't like as much..) while japanese was more about love. Anzu is EPIC and she's a very sweet character. Friendship speeches or not I like Tea just the way she is. She is my second favourite character in the yu-gi-oh series. My first favourite is Yami.

I think that Tea/Anzu doesn't particularly match with any of the boys in the anime their personality's would contradict; I suppose her and Yugi would be an alright relationship seeing as in the original Japanese version Yugi was in love with her. But of course it would depend, I don't dislike Tea/Anzu she is just a character. She as a character doesn't effect my life and she shouldn't effect your life as well; but saying that means if your particularly bothered by her because of her feelings for Yami or Yugi alternatively it means that you seriously have taken the show way too far. It is only an anime albeit a good anime but it shouldn't cause you to hate so violently, but you may think 'She isn't effecting my life!' but if your thinking about her and are insulting her as you would do with a real person that definitely shows she is effecting you to a certain degree. ... show more »

This is really stupid I really hate yami's fangirls who bash Tea/Anzu I mean I'm a girl too and I like Yami but seriosly Yami is just a stupid cartoon character when I hear "Tea is just a stupid ugly [censored]!
