Rando is a wanted demon who steals the special techniques of spirit fighters. He already has 99, and wants the spirit wave to get 100 techniques. So he disguises as Shorin and enters Genkai's tournament.
He faces Yusuke in the final round after beating Kuwabara. Rando loses because Yusuke gets swamp algae in his ear and can't hear him chant his shrinking spell, so Rando gets shrunk instead.
He is currently imprisoned in Spirit World.

I'm still puzzled as to how those children of the spirit detective could possibly be in the same class as Rando. There must be some mistake. That, or in his case, class doesn't matter, because of his techniques.
