RD is the third person to find his Fuzor Zoid, which is the Fire Pheonix. Along with him in Mach Storm is Hop, Sweet, Helmet, and Sigma. His rival, Blake, the pilot of the Berzerk Fury, are always trying to out do each other.

Liger Zero, along with Fire Pheonix, make Liger Zero Pheonix. Fire Pheonix saved Liger and RD from Blake and the Buster Fury, Berzerk Fury, and Buster Eagle, while the two were fighting. In doing a search to find out what the unknown Zoid was, RD found Fire Pheonix.
