How To Make Your Own Anime Bingo Game Posted Aug 12, 2020
Japanese Anime has been popular for decades, so it was only a matter of time before it moved over to the online bingo scene.
For those of you who have missed the trend taking social media by storm over the last year or so - it’s like classic bingo, but anime fans are able to create their own bingo cards with different characters or series they like.
We’ve put together a quick guide on how to create your very own anime bingo game, combining the much-loved Japanimation and the ever-popular game of online bingo.
Use an Anime Bingo Card Generator
You will see from a quick internet search that there are loads of Anime bingo generators and templates out there. So, if you don’t know where to start then there is help available.
Step 1: Find a Template
Generally speaking, these will be free of charge. If you fancy being creative and want to start from scratch, you’re going to need to get the ball rolling by finding a blank bingo card template.
A good idea is to specifically search ‘anime bingo template’. After all, a simple Google search will bring up lots of results.
Step 2: Search for Your Anime Title(s) or Characters
As an example, we are going to use the anime series ‘Cowboy Bebop’ as our theme. But, if you have another you prefer, you can type it in the search bar.
Some people choose ‘the worst ever show’ or ‘favourite characters’. Others like to make comical themes instead.
Once you’ve typed your chosen title in (for example your favourite series), you will see a variety of results associated with your search.
In our example, the movie associated with the series also appears in the results, as well as ‘Cowboy Bebop: Session XX’. This is essentially a clip show of the initial 13 episodes of the series. We added both.
Now you can also search for various characters and add those as well. These will all appear on your final bingo card.
Step 3: Customise - Add Your Own Items
Now you can add some of your own images for your bingo card, either from your computer or an image URL.
Adding more than one is a good idea as these will be added to the anime squares you chose in the step above to complete your card.
Step 4: Adjust Your Bingo Display Settings
Now you will see a bingo display settings section.
Here you can choose your card title, such as ‘Joe Bloggs Anime Bingo’. As well as bingo grid size, options are usually 3x3, 5x5 or 7x7.
On most template sites, you should also be able to choose your own font and card colours as well.
There will usually be 25 squares, one of which will have an optional ‘free’ square’, and the others will be filled with the anime themes and images you just uploaded.
Step 5: Save & Share
In most cases, all you have to do now (presuming you are happy with your card) is right click and ‘Save Image As’.
Now you can upload your bingo game for others to play. This is usually done on Twitter and Instagram. You will find heaps more created by other anime fans too, so why not try someone else’s game out.
To Summarize
As you can see, it is as easy as pie to create your very own anime bingo game. All you need to do is think about what you would like to feature on your bingo card.
