Most Underrated Anime Games of 2021

Anime. Whether you like it or not, it's a significant cultural phenomenon regardless of where you reside, whether you play games on your phone or prefer playing online games on your browser. Anime has become one of the most popular and profitable art forms of our time, with manga spin-offs, novel adaptations, merchandise, and video games all contributing to its success.

So far, 2021 has been an odd year for video games. Because the industry is still adjusting to the new normal, several launches have been postponed and the next generation is off to a sluggish start. It doesn't mean there hasn't been anything excellent to play, only because many of the major hits have been pushed out until 2022 and beyond.

Many excellent and inventive games have fallen by the wayside, and haven't received the credit they deserve. However, these anime games take innovative and unique paths through their art design, storytelling, and combat mechanics. These hidden treasures genuinely exemplify what it means to be a great anime game, and players should take a chance on them.

So far this year, a few anime games have managed to sneak under the radar. So while this isn't an exhaustive list of every underrated or underappreciated anime game released in 2021 to date, these are a few of our favorites.

Bravely Default 2

The sequel to Bravely Default, Bravely Second: End Layer, disappointed fans of the first game. But in 2021, their wishes came true and we got a worthy successor to Bravely Default, in the form of Bravely Default 2. Bravely Default 2 recounts the exploits of a gang of extremely different characters who met by chance, and are now on a quest to restore peace to their world. Whether you enjoy anime or not, this JRPG has a fantastic tale.

Story of Season: Pioneers of Olive Town

The charming RPG, created by Marvelous Interactive, tells the story of a farmer who, with the help of his friends, takes over his grandfather's community to continue with the family tradition. Planting crops, rearing animals and forming relationships with the town's residents let players develop a farm from the bottom up. Collect materials to fulfill requests that allow players to improve the community, update tools, and obtain new costumes.

Guilty Gear Strive

Arc System Works has been responsible for some of the most fantastic fighting-game designs in the entire gaming medium, and Guilty Gear Strive is yet another example of that. Thanks to a varied selection of incredibly entertaining characters with varying strengths, weaknesses, and play styles, it's one of the most straightforward 2D fighters to pick up. Rollback netcode, a clever networking feature that makes online battles very smooth, is also included in Guilty Gear Strive. Of course, if you don't want to play online, there are plenty of exciting elements to discover on your own, such as the distinctive Guilty Gear universe.

Love Live! Wai-WI! Home Meeting!! School Idol Festival After School Activity
