Anime with a Gambling Theme

If you are a lover of anime and you also happen to have a thing for sports betting such as sbobet, then you must have at one time asked yourself whether there is an anime that has a gambling theme. Don’t look any further as this article is a list of the best anime that draw inspiration from what goes on in casinos. Enjoy.

1. Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor

This superb anime was first published in 1996 and was written and illustrated by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. The TV series, however, was made in 2007 and it lasted until 2008. There are even a movie adaptation and its sequel, which were released in 2009 and 2011, respectively.

The anime's original name was "Tobaku Mokushiroku Kaiji," which means "Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji."

Kaiji is a guy who can't seem to get a break. He moves to Tokyo, looking for a fresh start, and nothing seems to work out over there as well.

Worse, he finds himself in a situation where he has to pay off a friend's debt to the Yakuza. His woes lead him to an illegal gambling cruise. Take your time to watch the anime and see how it pans out for him.

2. Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler

Based on more recent times as it released in 2018, Kakegurui is a story that begins at the Hyakkaou Private Academy, where the children of the elite are trained and housed.

Nonetheless, this school isn't interested in the next Einstein; instead, it judges its students by their adeptness for high-stakes gambling or sports betting.

If you are not skilled in that area and you run into debts, there will be consequences. The anime follows Yumeko Jabami, who happens to love gambling but will soon be on a collision path with the academy.

3. Akagi

Akagi is another manga by Nobuyuki Fukumoto and is extremely popular in Japan, with more than 10 million copies sold in Japan alone. There are several TV adaptations of the manga.

The story is about a small-time gambler named Nangou who, on one stormy night, was about to lose not only his money but also his life to the Yakuza after a game of mahjong. He gets a lucky break when Akagi arrives and manages to not only play well enough to get Nangou freed, but also to make more money off of the Yakuza. And that's where the drama begins.

4. Legendary Gambler Tetsuya

Tetsuya is a guy with a penchant for winning off gambling. While everyone else is struggling through the doomsday that is World War 2, our protagonist is having the time of his life. His reckoning, however, comes when he meets his match and gets defeated by Boushu-san.

Tetsuya decides to reinvent himself so that he can have his comeuppance.

5. One Outs

This is a manga about baseball first published in 1998. The story follows Toua Tokuchi, who is a master of sports betting, especially in the simplified game of baseball known as "One Outs."

This anime will appeal to people who fancy baseball and sports betting.

Sports betting is a hobby enjoyed by all kinds of people, anime lovers notwithstanding. If you have been looking for an anime with a gambling theme, consider checking out the shows on this list.
