Bram Stoker’s Dracula novel has inspired a cult of vampires for more than a century now. There have been many movies, cartoons, and all sorts of entertainment with vampires.
Although usually the story tells it that they don’t like the sunlight, there are still vampires who shine all day long. Also, they are portrayed in most times as evil beings, but nonetheless there are also good vampires. Remember “Blade” or “Twilight”? Or even the animated “Hotel Transylvania” movies.
The legend is so widespread that there is even a vampire branded casino in Romania, the homeland of vampires. This way, new characters appeared, like the vampire Vlad from Vlad Cazino.
Vlad is a charismatic and funny cartoonish figure from the world of online gambling, and the mascot of the casino. Vlad Cazino is part of Kindred Group, one of the biggest online gambling companies in the world.
But where else do we find the vampire cartoons? These supernatural creatures are often associated with darkness and blood, and they are a quite common appearance in the anime world.

Alucard
Alucard is considered by many to be the most powerful and the most popular anime vampire. He features in the Hellsing manga and anime series – and later Hellsing Ultimate – and his name is “Dracula” spelled backwards. Alucard is, in fact, the Count Dracula.
Why so strong? Well, because his body is made of a dark substance from out of this world. This helps him attack and change the appearance. Also, he has the power to absorb the souls of those he kills, and then he can summon them to fight on his behalf.
He is also omnipresent and can go anytime anywhere he wants. This is due to absorbing the were-kin Schrodinger.
Alucard also can regenerate from any wound, and that includes those made by the holy weapons. This makes him virtually immortal. And that is one reason to call him “The Ultimate Weapon”, as he may be the strongest vampire in the history of anime.
But while he may be sadistic with his enemies, he seems to care for those who are close to him. Alucard is devoted entirely to the current head of the Hellsing family, and works with the Hellsing Organization to fight vampires and evil forces.
His cruel part makes him humiliate his enemies before killing them.
Dio Brando
Another extremely powerful vampire is Dio Brando. He can stop time with “The World”, for almost nine seconds. That makes him almost undefeatable, and his opponents vulnerable to his attacks. He can also instantly freeze anyone, and shoot high-pressure beams using the fluids in the eyes.
He is one of the most evil vampires, having killed Jonathan Joestar, and also messed with the protagonists in this anime, “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure”.
He is the star vampire antagonist in the third part of the series, “Stardust Crusaders”, after becoming a vampire in the first part. “Phantom Blood”. Dio uses an ancient Aztec stone mask which transforms the wearer into a vampire when exposed to blood, and at the end of the first series he attaches his head to the body of Jonathan.
“It was me, Dio”, is one of his catchphrases, which adds up to his charisma and ambition.
Shalltear Bloodfallen
Perhaps the most powerful female vampire, Shalltear Bloodfallen has many powerful abilities and skills. Some of them are the super strength and the ability to manipulate blood, create soldiers, and summon others to fight for her.
She can reverse time to undo any kind of physical damage inflicted to her, and can also use skills and magic which have holy elements.
Shalltear Bloodfallen uses the Einherjar, a magical trump card and avatar that looks like her and has her physical strengths and equipment.
Featuring in the “Overlord” anime series, Shalltear Bloodfallen is portrayed as a vampire of short stature and looking like a fourteen-year-old girl.
Shinobu Oshino
Shinobu Oshino is another female vampire, which looks even younger than Shalltear Bloodfallen – like an eight-year-old. In fact, 590 more years are added to hear real age.
Her full name is Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, and she is introduced in the “Bakemonogatari” anime like the vampire that bit the high school student Koyomi Araragi. She is Koyomi’s servant, nonetheless, and seemingly falls in love with him.
When she was known as Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, she was a very powerful vampire, but she took the form of the eight-year-old after losing most of her powers.
Koyomi refers to her with both names, according to her power level. Shinobu herself changes appearances depending on how much of her original vampire powers she possesses.
“Bakemonogatari” is one of the most popular vampire anime series.
Mina Tepes
Bearing the name of Vlad Tepes, the Romanian ruler who is at the roots of the Dracula legend, Mina Tepes is the queen of all vampires.
She has a child-like appearance – and often acts childish –, so most people in the “Dance in the Vampire Bund” anime series call her a princess. Mina was able to slow her growth for centuries, after awaking her vampire powers earlier in life.
Although she is cold and calculated, she cares for her fellow vampires, and for Akira, her werewolf bodyguard, the most.
Cadis Etrama Di Raizel
Called often Raizel, or simply Rai, Cadis Etrama Di Raziel is a noble who bears the title of Noblesse, in the Noblesse Manhwa series. He is Frankenstein’s Master.
His extraordinary powers include telekinesis, costume change, soul weapon, blood reign, aura manipulation, and telepathy. Some of these powers will make his enemies kneel before him. He is also very influential, and his presence alone inspires fear to his opponents.
His aura manipulation is used to create a powerful barrier to protect himself and others, but also to manipulate and strengthen the properties of the blood.
