Description: Black Jack
Black Jack is the world's finest physician and a legend among the medical community, however he is a enigma, a mysterious figure with a hidden past. Just as much as his partner Pinoko.
He operates outside hospital politics and usually charges very high prices for his services. He encounters some of the most bizarre medical mysteries in his journeys. Based on the classic series by Osamu Tezuka (Astro Boy) Black Jack updates the classic series with 90's anime grit.

I'm not positive about this, but I think this OVA series is a sequel to the Black Jack Movie, taking place in the same universe and after the events from the movie.
