Anime Profile: Blue Submarine No. 6

In the not too distant future, Earth's oceans have risen and the world's cities are submerged, forcing humanity to do whatever it can to survive. The sole person responsible for this chaos is Dr. Zorndyke, a brilliant scientist who has turned his back on humanity and has also engineered an army of mutants hellbent on hunting down the last surviving humans. The only hope against Zorndyke's minions lies with the forces of Blue Fleet and the powerful Blue Submarine No. 6.

Fighting desperately against extinction, Mayumi Kino seeks the help of a former Blue fleet soldier named Hayami. However, he's less than enthusiastic to get back into the fight, and carries a cynical and reluctant view on the conflict. But Zorndyke's forces close in, forcing Blue Fleet to fight for their lives. They will learn that war is never in shades of black and white, and saving the world may take an unexpected path....

Blue Submarine No. 6 was practically the first anime to blend in 2D character animation with 3D environments complete with rich Dolby Digital Sound.

In the near future, due to global warming, almost all Earth is underwater. The evil scientist Zorndyke has turned his back on humanity and has begun to attack mankind with an army of mutants at his disposal. Now the only force on the planet that can stop him is the Blue Fleet, the army of powerful submarines, including Blue 6.

One of Blue 6's officers, Mayumi Kino, is ordered to find Tetsu Hayami, a former member of the Blue Fleet and convince him to return to Blue 6. However, Hayami refuses since he's a member of a salvage team now. But, when Zorndyke attempts to attack the city, Hayami might be forced to go back to Blue 6 anyway.
