Description: Dangaioh Hyper Combat Unit
Dangaio was one of the best mecha anime of the 1980's because of its similarities to Getta Robo and other mecha anime. It was originally brought to the US by US Renditions, but after the company fell, the tapes were no longer available. Later, the anime was picked up by Manga Entertainment and instead of being released as OAVs, it was chopped into a movie and renamed Dangaioh Hyper Combat Unit.
In the future, there are three teenagers named Mia Alice, Roll Kuran, Pai Thunder, and Lamda Nom who posess psychic powers. Called Espers, they are abducted and brainwashed by Professor Tarsan who works for Garimos, a powerful intergalactic warlord. Tarsan got the girls together in order to pilot the transforming mecha Dangaioh. After harsh leadership by Tarsan, the team has had enough and so they turn against him and run away, taking Dangaioh with them. Now Garimos' forces are after them. Tarsan decides to turn against Garimos and become the team's mentor. And so begins the Dangaioh team's quest not only to stop Garimos' criminal regime but also to dig up their pasts.
