Character Profile: Lenalee Lee

Lenalee Lee is Komui's younger sister (though at times she's more mature), and the assistant Head Officer at Headquarters. She is introduced relatively early in the series, when the gatekeeper of the Black Order mistakenly identifies Allen as an Akuma, preventing Kanda from killing Allen before showing the latter around the Black Order's HQ.

She traveled with Allen to "the Rewinding Town" in search of Innocence, encountering both Miranda Lotto and Road Kamelot. Lenalee and Allen try to help Miranda with her new job, but are all captured by Road, who dresses Lenalee up like a doll while she is unconscious. Upon recovering thanks to Miranda's innocence, Lenalle and Allen battle Road and her Akuma, Lenalee preventing Allen from 'saving' the Akuma that Road ordered to self-destruct, causing Allen to becomes enraged with her, and she slaps him for his outburst.

After recovering from the battle they set off, with Lavi and Bookman, to find General Cross. During the trip, Lenalee accepts Allen's apology for his earlier conduct, and later welcomes Arystar Krory when Allen and Lavi return with their new comrade.

As the group continues to look for Cross, they encounter Suman Dark, a 'Fallen One', which brings back painful memories for Lenalee from her early years in the Black Order. Allen comforts her and together they try to save Suman, only for Allen to be absorbed into Suman when he tries to rescue a little girl, and Lenalle is forced to leave Allen behind to save the little girl. She returns later with Lavi to look for Allen, but when they come upon the spot where Tyki left him to die he is no longer there and the images recorded by Timcanpy leave her to fear the worst, departing on a ship to Edo in a deep depression.

During the battle in Edo, when the Earl attempted to destroy Lenalee's Innocence (believing it might be The Heart), Allen returned from the Asian Branch and repelled the Earl with his new Crown Clown Innocence just in time to rescue her, driving the enemy off. Their reunion was short-lived however as she was kidnapped by Lero and pulled into Noah's Ark, where the Earl planned to destroy her along with the old Ark as it would disappear, only for Allen, Kanda, Krory, Lavi, and Chaoji to follow Lenalee into the Ark, where they defeated the Noah and captured the old Ark, along with the Akuma Egg, much to the Earl's fury.

Upon her return to the Black Order's Headquarters, Hevlaska removed the Innocence from Lenalee's legs, only to find it had taken on a liquid form. When a Level 4 Akuma began assaulting the Order, Lenalee drank the innocence, causing a large amount of her blood to exit her body through cross-shaped cuts on her ankles (similar in appearance to the cross on Allen's left hand), before spreading over her legs and taking on the form of new Dark Boots, which she used to defeat the level 4 Akuma alongside Allen and the Generals.

Lenalee's Innocence is a pair of boots known as the "Dark Boots" (黒い靴). When invoked, they greatly increase Lenalee's speed and strength, particularly in her legs. However, Lenalee claims they are heavy, and painful to wear.

Before the Dark Boots are invoked, they resemble a pair of thigh-high boots; when invoked, the top part of her boots seem to unwrap themselves; the boots extend to her knees, and a glowing green strip manifests on her skin, from the toes to the middle of the thigh. Lenalee's new boots take the appearance of high heels.

She has displayed several techniques so far:

Onkyou no Tougi: Otokase (音響の踏技 「音枷」, "Sound Shackles"): Lenalee becomes able to interface with sound waves, solidifying the sound of each step into a surface, which allows her to travel at the speed of sound.

Suijou no Tougi: Mizukase (水上の踏技 「水枷」, "Water Shackles"): Lenalee becomes able to interface with water, enabling her to walk on liquid surfaces.

Enbu Kirikaze: (円舞「霧風」, Waltz: "Mist-Wind"): Lenalee stirs up a destructive tornado with a whirling kick of her Dark Boots.

Shittsui no Tougi: Tetsukase (失墜の踏技 「鉄枷」, "Iron Shackles"): Upon maximum invocation, Lenalee's power condenses unto her Dark Boots, meshing them into a morass of blades, carrying an extremely high weight.
