Character Description: Captain Ginyu
Ginyu is the leader of the Ginyu Tokusentai, a group of mercenaries hired by Frieza after his regular henchmen failed to kill Vegeta and obtain the Dragonballs. He is a stocky, purple-skinned mutant with horns, who had the power to change bodies with an opponent at will.
When the Ginyu Tokusentai had gathered the seven Dragonballs, or rather stolen them from Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan, Ginyu took them back to Frieza. Later, when Jees returned to inform him that Rikuum, Burter, and Guldo had been killed, Ginyu was furious, and rushed to face the man responsible - Goku. A fierce battle ensued, in which a cocky Ginyu, aching for a good fight, encouraged Goku to power up to his maximum. Goku did so, rocketing to 180,000, many points above Ginyu's own 120,000. Ginyu then realized the advantage of this, and used his powers to swap bodies with Goku. He then ran into Krillin, Gohan, and Vegeta, but because he was not used to his new body, they defeated him easily, and he was forced to return to his old body again.
Ginyu then attempted to change bodies with Vegeta, but Goku thwarted this attempt by tossing a Namekian frog into the body-snatching beam, causing Ginyu to change bodies with the frog! Vegeta, amused with Ginyu's new form, spared his life. Ginyu later showed up to change bodies with Bulma, but wound up as a frog yet again. After the ordeal with Frieza, Ginyu was transported safely to Earth with the others, where he lived as a frog until Kid Buu destroyed the Earth. When he died, he reacquired his original body. This is true because when the scenes cut out to Hell/HFIL, when all the bad guys from the previous episodes are watching Goku, Vegeta, Fat Buu, and Hercule's fight with Kid Buu, you see Ginyu among the bad guys, along with the rest of the Ginyu Force.
Character Description: Captain Ginyu
During the Namek saga, Captain Ginyu was the second strongest bad guy. He leads a team of Frieza's elite soldiers called the Ginyu Force. Being a total nut, Ginyu's main objective of his team (aside from obeying Master Frieza)is to do strange and often times impromptu poses. When he first faced Goku, he was one of two members of the Ginyu Force still alive, thanks to Vegeta.
Ginyu put up a great fight, but Goku was too strong. In desperation, he injured himself and used his special technique the body change on Goku. He now had Goku's body, but because of his inability to use it to it's true potential, he is almost beaten by Gohan and Krillin. When Ginyu tries to make the quick switch to Vegeta, Goku jumps in front of Vegeta and gets his body back.
Afterwards Ginyu gets his wounded body back as well, then tries to switch with Vegeta again. This time Goku throws a frog in the way and Ginyu is now a frog. As a frog, he couldn't say the words to get his body back. When Bulma found him, she saw him (as a frog) and it seemed to her he had great intelligence. Ironically, Bulma creates a translator so the Frog could speak to her. Ginyu took the opportunity and body switched with Bulma. He realized Bulma was weak so he attempted to switch once again, but Gohan figured out what was up. He threw the Bulma (the frog) in the way of the beam and once again Ginyu was a frog. Ginyu was transported to Earth, and he stayed a frog until Kid Buu destroyed the Earth.
