I thought they would use the beasts and create war to create peace....kind of like the Death Note concept of Kira's "justice" I suppose you could say.

Itachi IS good! o.o Read Chapter 397 of Naruto, and Tobi tells Sasuke that quite clearly. Most likely in chapter 398 they will reveal more about why Itachi is actually a good guy after all! ^^

This is very frustrating! I really wanna know who the leader is but all we have are theories backed up with strong arguments...I wish I could just email Masashi Kishimoto and ask him who the leader of the Akatsuki is! >.<
