Re: What a week!

First off, let me apologize for everything that has happened. As Ken can probably contest, “protect the data” is a motto that I’ve been living by for some years. My second job had that written on a white board with permanent marker. So here is the situation as it sits. About 3 weeks ago I took one o...

Re: Site Status

Okay. Some of you might have noticed that sometime after 6:00pm PST on Wednesday Feb 9th, that the site went away. Well it didn't. It means that your computer has IPV6 enabled on it (like the default modern linux kernerls, or Windows Vista or 7. I enabled IPV6 on the server since we have the address...

Re: Site Status

The server move appears to be completed. You should notice a much faster response time as our bandwidth has increased from < 10mb/sec to 100mb/sec. As always, if you see any technical issues arise, contact me.

Re: Site Status

New look != new outage. For some reason there was an outage today to seemed to happen at exactly the same time I logged into my VMWare manage. Not sure why. This was the only server (virtual server) that was effected. I'm going to look into the reasons a little later tomorrow night.

Can someon identify this?

I reposted this in another thread but I wanted to promote it up a little. I saw this about 5-10 years ago on HBO/Showtime. I know, more informaiton. It had something to do with these people living in a tree, and the tree grew upwards into another planet (?) or a plant connecting the planet/moon. The...

I saw this about 5-10 years ago on HBO/Showtime. I know, more informaiton. It had something to do with these people living in a tree, and the tree grew upwards into another planet (?) or a plant connecting the planet/moon. The animation was high quality overall. It was full length about 90 +/- minut...

Re: Site Status

There was a crash last night. For some reason we received from Segmentation fault errors in the apache log. A backtrace showed "zend_mm_heap corrupted", which, after doing some research, appears to be a non-fixed long standing PHP bug. I'm not sure why we haven't received this type of error before, ...

Re: Site Status

The server had a hiccup this week. We received an alert saying one of the mirrored drives was having some problems. So, like the good boys we are, we looking into the problem. The drive reporting the problem would not succesfully complete a disk check. The mirror was still fine. The other disk had a...

Major change to the networking of AA today. Prior to today we used to have everything running behind a NAT'ed firewall. Today we are running it through a bridged firewall. This should once and for all solve global warming. Once and for all! As always, if any of the moderators find a problem with the...

Re: Please contact the board administrator...

Yes. It was bouncing 5 or 6 times per minute. So, as the database would restart, it would work for a few second and then crash. It was an endless cycle that apparently started in the last 48 hours. Several people probably noticed it but just didn't report it.

Re: Please contact the board administrator...

No. The problem was the database so in this case it was random. When the call to the database encountered a problem it would restart the database, which led to the error that you saw.
