Looking For a New Anime

Post by chris307 »

Looking to buy a new Anime, series or Movie, but find it hard to find something to interest me.

Anime that I have bought and loved are:

1.Voices from a Distant Star
2.Haibane Renmei
3.Kino's Journey
4.Serial Experiments Lain
5.Gun Slinger Girl

Please let me know, if you know of any that may interest me.

Thanx'

Obligatory mention of Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni and Giant Robo.

I picked up Giant Robo on a whim just yesterday, actually, because I heard a few good things about it. Yeah. Sort of an impulse buy, if you will...

SWEET.
MOTHER.
OF.
GOD.

I ended up watching all 7 episodes in one sitting; this is by far the absolute best, no-questions-asked, mecha anime I have ever seen. Ever. Period. A definite must watch by any and all anime fans. It's been a long, long time since I've seen an OVA that not only has large ensemble of characters to work with, but also makes you care about every single one of them. A truly epic tale, with an incredible cast, and while some of the twists are a bit predictable, the way in which they unfold truly has to be seen to be believed.

In short, WATCH GIANT ROBO. STOP WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING, AND WATCH GIANT ROBO. NOW.

Interesting. Giant Robo has been on my to-watch list for some time, but it hasn't exactly been at the highest priority. I'll make a note to pick up Giant Robo at some point. I'm curious, did you get the Eye Shaped LE Edition?

Anyways here is a short list;

GaoGaiGar/GaoGaiGar Final
Gunbuster
Super Bestial Machine God Dancougar
Conan: Boy of the Future
Space Runaway Ideon
Space Battleship Yamato
Legend of Galactic Heroes
Urusei Yatsura
Ranma 1/2
Innocent Venus
Megazone 23
Aura Battler Dunbine
Anything with the name "Captain Harlock" in it

EDIT: Well, it was supposed to be short -_-
