Subbed Anime probs. :(

Post by Whats_your_angle »

-left eye twitches-

I absolutely hate it when watching a subbed anime...and the character says a sentence

...but they don't translate it! They miss it! And a person is left going, "What did they say!?"

Or they spell the English word wrong. Even "TThat" pisses me off. ](*,)

I just wanted to figure out if anyone else has seen this...or is it just my lovely luck?

sorry that was special wasn't it? -goes and fixs it a bit- All it was, was that I got angry at the fact the "subbers" where missing entire sentences and wanted to know if it was only my luck.

A lot of subbers probably don't know English that well. Or they just don't care. Next time, get the official subbed DVD . . . probably not good either since even those have mistakes sometimes.

Yeah...good idea. Except I never have any money. -its always spent on books.- Although I am watching so much internet anime Im starting to pick up words. I suppose that would get better if i watched a official Anime.

Learn to save. :heh: Or buy the DVDs a few months after they come out. They're usually cheaper then. I got all three Sukisho DVDs for thirty dollars, which was the cost of one of them. However, they did make a few mistakes. It's kinda dumb hearing Sora say, "Nao," while the subtitle reads Fujimori.

Haha. I'm new to subbed anime. Used to hate it, until I realized it was a necessary evil and learned to deal with, so not sure quite what to look for. :-# probably something ridiculously easy I’m just missing.

Look for Loveless and Sukisho. The stories are both slightly dark, but whimsical in their own special ways. :D Just don't look for them if you're a yaoi-hater . . . >_> Oh, and most dubbed DVDs now carry the subs as well.

Loveless...-makes a happy face- I've read that series. And not an hour ago I saw an ad for Sukisho. ^^. -Loveless anime was in my best buy, but it was 3 and I had seen the two before.

it all depends on what Fansub group shows it

Shinsengumi is well done with few mistakes in translations but most of their Vids are MKV files and i believe only Veoh.com is able top lay them

Dattebayo is an awsome Fansub group but mostly exclusive to Naruto

there are also many Fansub groups that own all you have to do is look for the File type and where it came from.

your problem about missings subs have only happened to me concerning a few eps of Code Geass and the FMA movie (CG was bcuz of the file type, FMA subbers completely sucked)

depeneds on how bad it was... the invasion of Shambala (or what everi t's called) subbed version off of Lime wire was 1/5th incomplete, 1/4 subbed 1 minuit late (there were full conversations during quite parts when no-one speaks -_-) , and and the good parts are only at the beggining and near the end... i watched it all but disliked the subbers and tried to go on with the 10-25 Japanese words i know....
