U know Legato ould still be alive because when Vash shot him and he fell there wasn't much blood and he didn't look dead there wasn't a hole in his head. Also when he fell if u noticed that he was moving barley meaning he could still be alive.

he got shot in the head yaeh there was the lack of blood but i think he's dead unless there was a sueqel he'd proloi be alive

So it's pretty much for sure that legato is dead, but my question is: IS KNIVES DEAD? what did Vash's last quote about carrying out REM's philosophy, but his own way actually mean? He shot Knives, but did he actually die!? Thats all

Knives is certainly NOT dead.

watch the credits of the last episode closely

Vash has patched knives up and carries him back to town.

Also, during the fight, Vash shoots him in non vital points

arms and legs and the gun (maybe his shoulder too)]
