Book club
Re: Book club
Would we have to purchase the books? How would this work, exactially?

Re: Book club
I would also have an interest, as long as we can voice our opinions if we believe a certain book sucks.

An ordinary girl, an ordinary waist; but ordinary's just not good enough today.

>_> Lady G has a point....(But seriously yes, you CAN say a book SUCKS, though, I'd think everyone would agree that you'd have to give reasons as to why it sucks.
Purchase, rent, steal, all that matters is that you obtain the book. I'm thinking it works like this.Filitz wrote:Would we have to purchase the books? How would this work, exactially?
Every month:
(1) Vote on a book
(2) OBTAIN the book {rent, buy, steal}
(3) Discuss (chapter(s/ sections whatever it may be))
(4) Repeats steps 1-4.

Anyone who condones stealing is worthy of my presence in their club, lol.
I'm going to say this now; I really don't care what we read, so don't expect suggestions from me.

Re: Book club
Glad to have you aboard. So then those of us wishing to participate, we'll begin the book nomination process.
To nominate a book, give:
(1) Title
(2) Author
(3) Price
(4) Give a short statement about what the book is about or why it should be selected.
Everyone may suggest up to 2 titles for voting.
For example:
1. Fahrenheit 451 (Format: Mass-market paperback)
2. Ray Bradbury
3. $6.99 USD ($8.90 AUD)
4. This book is a classic. The story is set up in a world where firemen don't put out fires, but set them when ever someone is found to have books. A young fireman must make a difficult decision to help save his own community.
Once all the titles for the month have been posted, I'll change the poll to include the titles, and from there, we'll vote. If there is a tie, then we'll push one of the books to be voted for the next month. So, with that being said, feel free to start recommending.

Tell me Nana, why isnt forgetting about our mistakes and wounds enough to make them disappear? Even now I keep calling your name. Despite my pain, I'll keep on doing that until you answer me.

I've heard much flack over the Dark Tower series, and I've noticed they made the Gunslinger into a graphic novel >__>

Re: Book club
I like the series. I think I saw someone with the comic, too, but I thought I was imagining it. O.o
I dunno. What about Godless by Pete Hautman? (I'd suggest the Hobbit, but I think everyone and their mothers have read it.)
