Pieces I've Stolen from my Facebook Persona

Post by Biki »

Just a few of my recent poems. =o Funny all three of these are, roughly, about the same person. >.> And I'm posting them in separate posts. I think it looks better this way. Don't complain. Accept it. :] And welcome to my life of late:

Just Reflective Thoughts- (dated between late April and early May >.>)

I wonder at who you are now
You are not the same one I knew, surely,
Because he would not treat me so
And it may be said that I do not know you anymore
But that is only to be expected
Because you do not share yourself with me any longer
You do not share your joys, your pains
And though I do not rejoice at pain
Yours I would swallow up until it consumed me
But only because it is yours
And as you were once one of the largest parts of my life
I would do anything for you
And I feel your pain as acutely as my own
But you engulf it completely
Not letting a drop of it bleed out
So I cannot hope to bandage your wound with my love
Things that bleed within cannot be treated externally
So what use am I to you now?

Just My Reflections- 5-7-10

You called me last night
To ask if I could talk to you
As you walked home
Said it made you feel safer
And I had to smile
To know I brought security to you
And we talked of nothing
Beyond the ordinary pleasantries:
“So how are you?”
“Good. You?”
“I’m good.”
And I guess it’s funny I had nothing to say to you
We don’t seem to talk much anymore
But we stayed on the phone
Even after you’d safely arrived home
And lied down in your bed
And we still said little to nothing
So I let my mind wander
As it often does
Until…
I heard you breathing
And I had to stop my mind’s meandering
Long enough to concentrate on it
For some reason,
In that moment,
I couldn’t think of a more beautiful sound
Couldn’t think of anything more important to me
And so I listened to it
Until you hung up on me for the second time

Love?
4-8-10

Loving someone is a Godly concept
One of His many gifts to us
God loves us, unfailingly, unwaveringly, unconditionally
And He put this love in us that we may mimic Him
And share our love with others
But our human hearts and minds are weak
We say our love hides, or fades, or disappears
Reverts into a form that is merely a weak echo of what it was
What it should be
We are supposed to be reflections of God
Our love is supposed to be infallible
It is not supposed to change
How can we love someone one day,
Then another we do not?
Where did the love go?
Tangible or no, something of love’s caliber does not simply vanish
Can hardly be expected to simply diminish
How can we feel it no longer?
Or do we simply ignore it?
Deny the truth of its existence?
Or did we never feel it to begin with?
We felt something, assuredly,
To tell another that we loved them to begin with
But was what we felt love?
Or something else?
Not particularly lust,
But still, not love either
Can feelings we take to be love,
Say to be love,
But are not love,
Vanish?
Would this explain why what was supposed to be perfect
Failed?
I’m trying to be God’s reflection
Trying to love unconditionally, unwaveringly, unfailingly
And if I say I love someone, I mean it
Not always translated to I’m in love with that someone,
Because love isn’t always simply that
But I love them, to whatever degree I feel
But can I honestly say that I still love everyone to the degree that I always have?
No
Some I love more than originally;
Some I love less, have grown less attached to
Human nature
What else can be said about it?
At least, I love me
And that’s good
Because it’s the first step to me loving someone else
