If we're talking books, then harry potter 'cause I can't take Tolkiens verbose anal descriptions of plant life and rock formations.
If we're talking movies (which I think you are), then lord of the rings 'cause Daniel Radcliffe is a loser and has a funny shaped ass

Books: Lord of the Rings, most definately. Most people don't like the books of Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit etc. because they are long or they don't understand the text...

Movies: Still Lord of the Rings.

in the books i would definately have to say harry potter cause tolkien made the books ways to streching and boring...
but the movies are a different story they are both good!

Both Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter films are fantastic adaptions of the books, however, Lord of the Rings is a way better story. Therefore, Lord of the Rings is better. I dont know if I will ever find a story I enjoy as much as the Lord of the Rings.

For both books and movies, LOTR.

Just because I think Tolkien put a lot more imagery and imagination [Not saying Rowling does not.] into his novels, and somehow, being in a world like Middle Earth is much more adventurous then being in a Wizarding School in England.

IMO, mind you.

I like both HP and LOTR movie-wise.
