But I'd have to say Led Zeppelin is the best of all time.

Pink Floyd
Santana
The Beatles
Buddy Holly
Elvis
Status Quo

they have to be THE most influencial musicians of all time (mebbe not Santana as much, but they are an all time classic

)

Whoa, this is pretty easy. IMO, the best band of all time would have to be...

The Beatles. They're the most influential band/musicians of all time. Others include:

The Doors
The Who
The Clash
Pink Floyd
Bob Marely
Led Zeppelin
The Rolling Stones
I mean, in all honesty, classic rock is where is it all begin, and are the most basic of roots for all rock bands today. I think bands that are currently setting the standard and are the modern talents are:

The Strokes
The Killers
Oasis
Rock Kills Kid
