I knew there was going to be a weird ending. I just knew it.

Well, as for the ending (which I have on DVD), perhaps it might help if I leave this final Prophetic Vision which you might not have seen or heard about:
"To begin, the story that seems to have ended spins back to the place where it began. Following each stepping stone and connecting the dots, you find the eternal castle of recurring dreams. No mystery remains unsolved forever...and no answer is without mystery. Well then, we bid you farewell."
It's not much, but perhaps with this you can get a feel for how Satoshi Kon intended to air the series.
It was awesome when Keiichi shattered the fake reality with that song playing then Maniwa told why Lil Slugger exisited and I agree it was sad when Tsukiko was holding her dead puppy and let go of her gulit then Lil Slugger said "Good Bye" then we see 2 years later.
Same here. Ive seen it like 3xs now, and since its on again, I cant help but watch.

Tsukiko did look worthy of love at the end.
Maromi totally freaked me out.
