S.CRY.ED-manga, or anime. Which is better?
S.CRY.ED-manga, or anime. Which is better?
in my opinion, the scryed manga is better. the anime, in my opinion, muddles up the main themes by changing the characters and their purpose. i'm fairly certain that the anime was changed to make it last longer (the manga is only 5 volumes).
what are y'all's opinions?

if you've watched the anime, then you'll know the characters, but don't expect them events to be the same AT ALL.

one thing that the anime does better is the character development (spoiler warning!)
the manga introduces characters, but they come and go really fast.
Spoiler
Show
Taiki aono, one of the super HOLY officers, turns out to be kazuma's long lost brother, but there isn't much chance for their relationship to develop.
Couger Straight was Kazuma's mentor, but that's all we know about his past.
Asuka Tachibana- we know he turns against HOLY in the end, but his past and his personal agenda are a mystery.

In the beginning was the Win, and the Win was with Gai, and the Win was Gai.

The manga to any anime is usually better. However, I kinda liked the anime to this one. I thought the storyline flowed and the animation was good. It wasn't an anime in which you needed to read the manga to understand.

The manga was ok but I like the anime more because there is more character development and the story is better. The manga had too much fanservice with Cherise and it didn't seem like they really accomplished anything when it was over.

Re: S.CRY.ED-manga, or anime. Which is better?
Okay, for the grossly misinformed(and there seems to be many of you), I'm gonna clear a few misconceptions. First off, the anime precedes the manga by a year, meaning that the ANIME is the original canon, not the manga. This isn't really unique. Eureka Seven, Ergo Proxy, Escaflowne, Rahxephon and Evangelion are similar cases. Secondly, the manga was one of the most horrendous manga-to-anime transitions I have ever seen. They took away almost everyone's character development (while mangling their original personalities) and turned them into ugly, parodied versions of themselves, if even that. The only characters that came out of that mutilation somewhat intact were Kanami, Cougar and maybe Kazuma (though they WAY overemphasized on his aggression and anger to the point that he was pulling power-ups out of his ass). They tried to save it with gratuitous fanservice and failed miserably.
The only way I could see anyone finding it entertaining is if they didn't draw any comparisons to the anime or didn't take the plot seriously. I thank God that wasn't the original source material, but if that had been the case it would've nothing short of miraculous that such a good anime came from that piece of garbage.
