It's not nearly as complex as English, but as usual we find ways to screw it up.

Please help me translate this (points inside)

Post by -Pachi »

Since I'm still learning to translate Japanese myself (I only know so much!) that someone has to help me translate this small song chorus from Boa's song 'Kono yo no Shirushi' :

Chizu mo nai no ni tadori tsuita
Soko ni hana to kimi ga yureteta
Tokubetsu ja nai koi dakaredo
Boku ni kimi wa kakegae no nai
KONO YONO SHIRUSHI

I have the first half of the first line

'Chizu mo nai no ni' meaning:

'Even without a map, '

and the last two lines:

'Boku ni kimi wa kakegae no nai
KONO YONO SHIRUSHI' meaning:

'I cannot replace you, the happiness of my life
You are a token of this world.'

I just need the middle parts I did not mention translated :heh:

All righty, yo! It'll be much easier for me if I paste the kana here in front of me.

地図もないのに たどりついた
そこに花と君が揺れてた
特別じゃない恋だけれど
僕に君はかけがえのない
コノヨノシルシ

"And although I have no map, I reached you
There you and the flowers trembled
As though love is nothing special
You are invaluable to me,
A token of this world"

Mmm... don't see anything with "happiness of my life" in it. But if you'd like stuff explained, I can oblige.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." ~Romans 6:23

To Valkery-san: I'm no help on "dankishi", sorry. I have some clues, but I highly doubt they're right.

We are all here to help you, so what you should do is get a book out on Japanese from your local library, or find some japanese language websites and start learning it yourself

If there is something you don't understand or are having trouble with, then ask us here

Thats the only thing better than actually taking a Japanese course at school

That's true. In fact, some japanese expressions originated from portuguese ones, like the "Arigato"
