Whoever did the translation on that page made "hakanai" into "empty", and it can be, but the word has more of a "vapor in the wind" kind of feel... fleeting, futile.

(Dai)suki desu/da
A lighter romantic way to say you love someone. 'Daisuki' adds more emphasis than 'suki' (almost like 'love' versus 'like'). 'Desu' is formal, 'da' is informal. You can also leave 'desu/da' off entirely. On the front end, you can optionally add the word 'you' + the particle 'ga'. Like: "Anata ga suki da."

Ai shiteru
Represents a deep, strong love. It's shortened from 'ai shite iru', which is also acceptable. On the front, you can also add the word 'you' + the particle 'o'. Like: "Kimi o ai shiteru."

You'll have to choose which one works in whichever situation, and pick whichever version of 'you' you need.

The ("I") part is optional, as usual, because Japanese relies more heavily on context rather than subjects/pronouns.

The [SUBJECT ga PLACE ni iru/aru] is a standard pattern. Iru is for animate subjects, aru is for inanimate.

Sarah is the same in Japanese, you silly little thing you. Of course, it gets run through the Japanese phonetic system and pops out "seera"　セーラ (or "sara" サラ　depending on how you pronounce it in English)

Well, you *could* say osara, お皿 but thats just putting an honorific "o" in front of it
