Japanese Names

It's not nearly as complex as English, but as usual we find ways to screw it up.

I know that some Japanese names have a meaning, like Sakura (I couldn't remember a better name :heh: ).
Well, if it's true, does Kurogane, Nozomi and Yuuko means something? And what about my "name" Amaya?
I'm curious!
I can only translate the name Amaya and Amaya means 'Night rain'

Ryukon wrote:The names you're inquiring about can sometimes have several meanings, but this might be different:

Kurogane = iron(鉄/黒金)
Nozomi = wish;hope(望み), nozomi(臨み)
Yuuko = yuuko(悠子) it's just a name from what I could look up so far.
Amaya = amaya(海士や) same thing with "Yuuko", sorry.

There probably is a meaning somewhere though. I just don't have the proper knowledge or other resources at the moment.
so if you know what those mean. could you tell me what Haruhi means?
