DN: Manga vs Anime?

Okay.

Who here has been a Death note fan since BEFORE the anime was released in America? Since before there even WAS an anime at all? =P

xD I've been into this series practically since the manga was released in Japan, and was stoked beyond compare when I heard there was gonna be 2 DN movies and and anime. I just kept praying they didn't muck up the translations or change it too much from the original manga plotline.

The movies sucked, so I was glad when I saw the anime stuck very closely to the original storyline, though they did leave out the very last bit of the story, [big gigantic spoiler right thur, look if ya dare]--->

the aftermath of Light's death and all, with near completely taking over as the new L, people wishing for Kira's return, and "peace" is restored to the world.

Your thoughts? Did you like American adaption of the anime? Did you ever see the movies? Did you like them? Prefer the manga? Ever even read the manga? etc? =P

i loved it since almost the same day it came out. i was on vacation in japan and i saw the first book on a shelf. of course it was written in japanese and i still wasnt that good at reading it yet but i loved what i could understand. i was addicted to it ever since

Did you know that despite the fact that Death Note is only 12 volumes long, a 13th volume was released? The 13th volume is to tie up loose ends and explain in detail how many things where done so that people that wondered how certain things happened would be able to know them.

All 12 volumes are currently out in English, and volume 13 is being translated.

Ive been a fan since before the anime. Volume 13 is supposed to come out next wednesday i believe. for an early release. if not then the third week of this month. along with the novel, Death note: another note. In my opinion of the series, the anime and manga were pretty much the same with minor differences except the end. i prefer the anime death rather than the manga. and definatly both of those endings are better than the movies.
