The Lord of the Rings. It took SUCH an imagination to create that, and JRR Tolkein was a very gifted man. Sure, Harry Potter is a pretty amazing series too, but I don't know as much about it as I do LOTR. But also growing u, my mom didn't want me reading the Harry Potter books because of... honestly, I don't know. A bunch of stuff in it that she didn't approve her kids of reading. But when I got older I got introduced to LOTR, but I was older too so mom wasn't against it.

I know too much about harry potter, and not enough about LOTR, and i still agree that LOTR is better.

LOTR are novels for novelists. Harry Potter is for 5th graders who need to learn to read.

The best thing of the film is the casting voice by Bakshi. The sound of the characters I imagined the sound. The character designs are fine, even if Aragorn and Boromir looked too "Viking-like for my taste. Bakshi was quite faithful to Tolkien's description.

The only thing to judge them by imo is the level of creativity put into each world and each story... And Lord of the Rings wins their without debate.

Um Lord of the Rings totally. I am actually listening to the soundtrack now, and that is by complete accident. It just makes more sense and feels more real, world doesn't center on you and bunch of dumb school kids, centers on.. the world

Personally I am not a fan of Lord of the Rings, but nothing comes close to the effect that Lord of the Rings has had on culture, if you look at all the things such as D&D and all the fantasy that's all based on Tolkien's work, then Harry Potter doesn't even come close. Otherwise it's just up to personal preference.

Lord of the Rings is waaay better than Harry Potter. Harry Potter is for kids to watch. lord of the rings have epic war scenes. and amazing st0ry plot.

I feel Lord of The Rings is the best trilogy I have ever watched, but I would rather rewatch Harry Potter.

I like re-watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy over Harry Potter because it doesn't take nearly as long and because all three of those movies are great whereas the Harry Potter movies are much more uneven, some are good but others are not so good.
