I have a question about maniwa

If maniwa went crazy after episode 7 why didn't littel slugger try to kill him with his bat like he did to some of the people in episodes 7 through 13?

I think its because he wasn't looking for a way out of a situation like the other people who got attacked by little slugger. Like in the one episode where the lady actually fought back little slugger at first she was looking for a way to escape her illness and to stop being such a burden but then she changed her mind and decided that she would rather deal with her situation rather than run away from it.
