Things Not To Do At Hogwarts:
Crashing a Ford Anglia into the Whomping willow is not the best entrance to make. Crashing it into Snape's office is.

Re: Kenshin and Kaoru's death
cholera = explosive diarrhea...
leprosy = explains skin, but not coughing and excessive memory loss...
tuberculosis = doesn't explain skin or memory loss
blood of those killed = would've shown up sooner
guilt manifesting itself as disease = kaoru couldn't get infected
Watsuki made up the disease.

Re: Kenshin and Kaoru's death
I don't know what kind of disease Kenshin had... But it's clearly NOT from people he has killed. He had that disease all along but it just never start having any effects until later. Kaoru was worried so she told him she wanted to suffer with him, causing him to have sexual intercourse with her. I don't know if it HIV or crap, but it was clearly transferred through sexually.
I would assume Kenshin never existed in real life, but if you THINK about the time he was in, HIV would have existed back then without them knowing. Still, I doubt it's HIV though, just an assumption. If it was HIV, it doesn't explain the weird marks both Kenshin and Kaoru had.

You think they don't understand...that they don't WANT to understand... I think so too.

Re: Kenshin and Kaoru's death
is that you answer people? He died from an unknown disease decided that she wants the same disease in her body as well cause she wants to die together with kenshin. go back and watch the ova'sHe makes the decision to wander again, and Kaoru strongly supports him, promising to welcome him home with a smile and their child. Kenshin eventually becomes ravaged by an unknown disease. However, he decides to assist in the First Sino-Japanese War as he had promised the Meiji Government. After the war's end, Sanosuke discovers a gravely injured Kenshin on the shore, and arranges for Kenshin's return to Tokyo and Kaoru. The two finally meet, and Kenshin collapses into her arms as he clutches her to him. Kaoru then notices Kenshin's scar has faded away, signifying his death.[3] Nobuhiro Watsuki, after watching the last OVA, was quite unhappy with how the story ended, saying that "Kenshin went through so much crap and deserved a happy ending.
"Yet, the Arcana is the means by which all is revealed...
Beyond the beaten path lies the absolute end.
It matters not who you are...Death awaits you."

Syphilis is another possibility. Its symptoms include skin rash and mental decline.
