Tank!

Post by Deacon »

That's really one of the best opening theme I've ever heard! =D> Yoko Kanno is a genius :color:
I heard the extended version too...but the best moment of the song is the final trumpet solo...
First time I heard it:

...mmm, somebody can tell me what the singer says at the beginning of the song? I can understand only "Ok 3,2,1 let's jam" :-k

It is a good opening. The singer says "I think it's time to blow this thing,
get everybody and the stuff together" then the ok part after. At first i didn't kno what he said too but i looked it up.

That solo at the end of the original version? It's actually an Alto Sax.

Yeah. Those notes are really high.

I'm not so expert to recognize an instrument from its sound... #-o
I said trumpet because I heard other solos of this instrument and this one was similar :heh:

Yeah. Don't worry though. I thought it was a Trumpet too at first, but after listening to it a few times, I notice as it makes its fall in the music, it turns instantly to the sounds of an Alto Sax.

I actually had to have my band teacher check with me on that one, who's a Sax player. I think he said it was a very high C note...can't remember since it was about 3 years ago.

No worries. I'm sure others haven't noticed it either at first (like me. lol) but it's still a great bebop jazz song.

When the Alto is making it's high solo, it very briefly makes a unique hollow, squeaky sound that only a Sax can make, but the falling of the notes is what's more noticeable.

i love this theme song :D

its different and its rare to hear just instrumentals for an anime opening.

being a trumpet player, i think the slight jazz in the song is awesome 8) 8)

Well even though I'm a metalhead that doesn't mean that I can't appreciate the great opening for Cowboy Bebop. It's definitely one of my favorite openings for an anime. Heck, most of Cowboy Bebop's music is great IMO.

I love it too, but Im not really a jazz fan.
Yoko Kanno is amazing too. She did work for Ghost in the Shell anime and it rules.
