Kyo - Martial Arts

Post by Minika »

Does anyone know what type of martial arts Kyo does? As far as I know, it's Shotokan Karate, but I might be wrong.

Anybody else know? I've tried googling it quite a few times, but strangely enough there's no mention of 'Kyo does karate' or anything similar - just that he does martial arts!

Jujutsu? How did you find that out??

Wikipedia Article on Jujutsu wrote:Japanese jujutsu systems place more emphasis on throwing, immobilizing and pinning, joint-locking, and strangling techniques compared with the empty-handed fighting arts of neighboring China and Korea.
Hmm...reading that description there, I would be surprised...Kazuma threw Kyo once, but other than that, Kyo's martial arts seems to be more similar to Shotokan (punches, kicks, etc.).

I'm not so sure. The 'uniform' of Kung Fu is very different from the gi worn by Kazuma.

I looked up on Wikipedia to see if the gi worn by a martial artist is related to their martial arts, and I've determined that Kyo doesn't do ninjutsu or aikido - his gi looks more like that of someone doing judo/jiujitsu or karate. The main difference between the judo/jiujitsu gi and the karate gi is that the karate gi is made out of a much lighter and looser fitting...

...I'm confused!

I'm not exactly sure what...but I think that is a combination of martial arts. I'm not sure where, but I believe that I read somewhere that the reason Kazuma was a great sensei was because he had studied alot of the martial arts techniques (sp?). I'm pretty sure that he was teaching Kyo all of them at one time! BUT...I could be wrong! Hope this helps! :D
