Re: Haku was a GIRL, not a boy!

Didn't you notice that Haku has always been called a "he"? I'm not talking about the part when he disguised as a girl.

Hmm. After thinking more about it, I suppose that my reasons are partly based on my fascination with up-hill battles. Arguing against popular beliefs seems to be a habit of mine, because it keeps my wits sharp by making me think as to how I can successfully counter a well-accepted theory. I think my reasons are more based on my desire to maintain balance in the world in which I live. I usually can't stand to see only one side of an issue represented, because it restricts alternative thought. If every new Naruto fan were to read what Absolute Anime for example has on Haku, then every new Naruto fan would think the same way based on what someone else told them. This is true in all things. Therefore, I think that presenting the other side, no matter how absurd it may seem to the opposing side, is better than having one side because it makes people think about the issue more carefully and make their own conclusions for themselves.KoYue wrote: But why do you care if they miss it or not? Is the main character a kid though? Most anime boys have female voiceovers. The voiceover issue is not that strong, but it does at least say that they picked a woman to voice Haku in a feminine way but with a deeper voice instead of a male with a more feminine voice, which is what Haku would sound like if he/she were a male posing as a female.Kivea wrote: I think that it's a very good point. With all the information you've gathered, it's amasingly believable. I'm not sure which I believe, the fact everyone called him/her a boy, or the information you've got ... Haku could well be a girl, and Zabuza might'nt know ... or he could be an extreamly femenine male. Though with the argument about having a female voice-over, that does happen quite a lot, in steam-boy for exsample, the main character's voice is a woman, not a man.
You are right that it is not proof, but it is supporting evidence. They could have hired a feminine sounding guy for Haku and he would have fit the "bishounen" Haku profile better.Haku wrote: sure Haku sounds like a Women because a women does his lines but that doesnt make Haku a women,
Fan opinions do not affect the facts of the series. If Haku was a girl according to the series, then at least 3 people are right and at least 31 are not.Haku wrote: by the way only 3 people have said Haku is a girl out of 30 so no matter what ur proff might be Haku is a guy nothing can change that.
Such a character would not be allowed to go unedited on American TV. Saying Haku is gay is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. In other words, her attraction to Zabuza proves that she is female, so to keep your opinion that she is male you must also claim that she is a gay male. Not only is that closed minded, but also it is an assumption. The most likely case is that Haku was a girl who had a NATRUAL attraction to the opposite sex because this is the normal way of life. Other facts in the series also indicate that Haku was being hunted. This means that Haku would have a true identity to protect. Lying about herself would be the best way to do this. The fact that she said she was a boy to the enemy (who thought she was a girl) only validates the cause of such a lie. This possibility becomes more prominent when you consider the fact that Haku believes in deceiving the opponent, as stated later in the bridge battle and also demonstrated in the battle before hand when she posed as a hunter-nin.Kazuma the Shell Bullet wrote: His physical attraction to Zabuza proves nothing. Because she said that Zabuza had a beautiful body in the manga, and a flawless body in the anime. Both statements were made while Haku blushed profusely.Kurama-chan wrote: u say haku is attrcted to zabuza for whatever reason(i forgot )
Do you tell your brother about how great his shirtless body looks?Kurama-chan wrote: but i like this one guy and how i show it is buy hitting him upside the head everyday so...i think differnt ppl show how they like some one in differnt ways maybe haku thought of zabuza as a big bro thier realionship shounds sort of like mine and my big bros
Some say that I paid too much attention to what I watched. The fact that others call her a boy is irrelevant. Other characters in the series do not know her, they only know what she or Zabuza told them, or what they assumed on their own (Kakashi assumed she was a boy, Naruto assumed she was a girl). Also, Haku's claim of being a boy may not be the truth. A reason for lying is to protect her true identity from the hunter-nin who were tracking Haku and Zabuza.Caged Bird wrote: OMGosh, Haku is NOT a girl. He is a boy. Don't you pay attention when you're watching?
Do you ever tell your brother how flawless or beautiful his body is without having a quarrel? You must admit that the answer is no. You simply do not make comments like that to people you know but do not love in a romantic way. Even when you say you will not mess up his beautiful face, are you being serious or are you being sarcastic to add to the quarrling?Kurama-chan wrote: okay belive what i meant about me and my big bro is SORT OF alike me and my bro will be fighting and he'll always say not to hit min in the face and 'i say fine i won't mess up your pretty face just no hurting my wonderous hair'
Shy in front of elders? Come on. Haku had been with Zabuza for quite a while by that point. I do not think she would be shy in front of someone she knew for so long unless she wanted to have a deeper relationship with him and was dropping a hint right then.Kurama-chan wrote: and the blushing part have you ever thought he is shy in frount of he's elders that he finds cool i do that at school
If such a character wouldn't be aired on American TV, then how come Spongebob is still on the air? And you're calling ME close minded, please, there is more evidence pointing toward Haku being male then towards female.Believe it! wrote:Such a character would not be allowed to go unedited on American TV.
